The Frije Wiken
The southern Friesche Wouden is surprisingly varied, a bocage landscape interspersed with beautiful heather fields, groves, fens and canals. Part of this area has recently been given the name De Frije Wiken.
The cycle route network gives you the opportunity to compose your own route. But there are also several beautiful cycling routes composed by cycling enthusiasts from the area, with challenging names such as “De Linderoute”, “De Tjongerroute” or the “De Companonsroute”. Cycling along these rivers and canals gives a completely different picture of Friesland than one usually sees of our beautiful province.
Minicamping
Our campsite offers a nice base for long bike rides or a day of rest with a book. The field is surrounded by a tree wall, fruit trees and berry bushes. These offer shelter and shade, but also enough visibility to enjoy rural views. Because we focus on touring campers and do not rent out seasonal pitches, the field is well maintained and it is a wonderful experience to walk barefoot through the grass or have a nice picnic in front of your tent.
Pypskoft
Take a break with a cup of tea or coffee and a homemade snapperke (pastry) after a brisk bike ride. Wonderfully quiet on one of our tea terraces on or in front of the campsite.
